We Showed Up at OCBC Cycle 2026 — And So Did You

The Kallang, 8–10 May 2026
Three days. Thousands of cyclists. One massive expo. The OCBC Cycle 2026 Expo at The Kallang was everything we hoped it would be — and then some. To every SundayShader who stopped by our booth, tried on a pair, asked us questions, or simply gave us a wave as you walked past: thank you. Genuinely. This weekend reminded us exactly why we do what we do.
Singapore's Biggest Cycling Weekend
If you haven't been to the OCBC Cycle Expo before, the scale of it is hard to describe until you're standing in the middle of it. Now in its 18th edition, OCBC Cycle has grown into so much more than a race — it's a full celebration of Singapore's cycling community, drawing together everyone from elite riders to families pushing kids' bikes for the first time. The Kallang precinct buzzed with energy across all three days, with the expo running at full tilt from the moment doors opened.
Friday, 8 May kicked things off as participants streamed in to collect their event packs and get their first look at the expo floor. The energy was already high — there's something about being around that many cyclists, all talking about routes and gear and gear and routes, that gets the pulse going. By Saturday, the crowd had multiplied, buoyed by the incredible Brompton World Championship unfolding just steps away at OCBC Square. Watching those foldie riders compete in their blazers and helmets while the expo hummed alongside them was a sight — only in Singapore, honestly. And Sunday? Sunday was electric from before sunrise.
Our Booth, All Day, Every Day
We kept our booth buzzing throughout the expo, and we were blown away by the response. Whether it was 10am on Friday or deep into Saturday afternoon, there was never a quiet moment. Cyclists, triathletes, walkers, families with kids on the Mighty Savers Ride — the mix of people who came through the doors of The Kallang Expo was a true cross-section of Singapore's sporting community, and we loved every second of it.
What struck us most was how many of you already knew Sunday Shades. You'd walk up, pick up a frame, and say "Oh, I've been looking at these online." That means the world to us — it tells us the Sunday Shades name is getting around, and that the community of SundayShaders is growing. Others discovered us for the first time and spent a good while going through the range, asking about lens tech, trying on frame after frame. That's the kind of conversation we live for.
If you've been wondering what the difference feels like between a standard sports frame and a pair built specifically for the Asian face, that's exactly what we got to show people in person. The FitFlow™ fit system — our adjustable nose pads and tapered temple arms — isn't something that's easy to communicate through a screen. But once you put it on, the difference is immediate. No pinching. No sliding. No bouncing. Just a clean, secure fit that stays put whether you're sprinting, cornering, or leaning hard into a headwind. The looks on people's faces when they felt it for the first time never got old.
Sunday Morning: The Early Risers

Now let's talk about Sunday, 10 May — because that morning had a different kind of vibe entirely.
The Sportive Ride flagged off at 5:00am. The Foldie Ride by Brompton was rolling at 5:30am. The Straits Times 20km Ride went at 6:30am. That means thousands of cyclists — more than 5,600 in total across the mass participation categories — were on closed city roads in the dark, climbing the Benjamin Sheares Bridge, sweeping past the Singapore Flyer, riding through Gardens by the Bay, before finishing inside the National Stadium. All before most people had their first coffee.
And then they came to see us.
From around 6am onwards, our booth started welcoming riders fresh off their routes — some still catching their breath, some mid-stretch, all of them glowing with that particular post-ride energy that is genuinely one of the best things to be around. Helmets in hand, kit still on, finishing medals starting to appear around necks — and a lot of them made Sunday Shades one of their first stops post-finish.
To every single one of you who came to visit us straight off the ride: we see you, and we are so grateful. You'd just pushed through 20km or 40km on traffic-free Singapore roads — a once-a-year experience that participants keep coming back for, year after year — and you chose to spend part of your post-ride high at our booth. That genuinely means everything to us.
We heard your stories. First timers completing 20km and crossing the finish line in tears. Veterans who've done every edition since the early days. People who stepped up from the 20km to tackle the 40km for the first time. Foldie riders who rode the entire route on their Bromptons. You all deserve every bit of that finisher's high, and it was an honour to be part of your Sunday.
What You Tried, What You Loved
Across the three days, a few things stood out in terms of what caught your attention at our booth.
The Daybreak Max drew a lot of curiosity — as our first photochromic lens, it was something a lot of cyclists hadn't seen from us before. The idea of a lens that shifts from Cat 1 to Cat 3 depending on light conditions resonates strongly with anyone who's ever started a ride in the dark and finished in blazing afternoon sun. The frosted TR90 frame and neutral grey tint got consistently positive reactions, and we had a number of people say they'd been waiting for exactly this kind of product from us.
The Sports Series — the Pace, Max, Blaze, and Volt — were naturals in a cycling crowd. Lightweight TR90, PC lenses, UV400, anti-glare (not polarised, exactly as you want for road cycling), and that signature no-bounce, no-slide fit. These are made for this environment, and it showed in how quickly people went from "just looking" to "okay, I need a pair."
Stay Shaded Out There
OCBC Cycle 2026 was a weekend we'll be talking about for a long time. To the entire cycling community that made the Expo what it was — thank you. To the organisers of OCBC Cycle for putting together one of Southeast Asia's most impressive sporting weekends — well done. And to our team who held it down across all three days, from the early Friday setup to the final hour on Sunday afternoon — you were brilliant.
We'll be back. And we hope to see even more of you next time.
Until then — stay shaded, SundayShaders. These Shades Won't Slide.
