Pasir Panjang Power Station | 7 February 2026
Some days don’t ease you in. They greet you with a pulse.
The Singapore Team Games powered by REVL was one of those days. From the moment we stepped into Pasir Panjang Power Station, we knew this wasn’t going to be an ordinary event. The industrial bones of the venue — steel, concrete, vast open space — gave everything a certain weight. It didn’t feel staged or polished. It felt honest. Like a place built for effort.
And effort was everywhere.
Close to 1,000 athletes showed up ready to compete. Teams moved with focus, chalk dust rising into the air, shoes gripping against concrete, bodies pushing through fatigue together. You could hear the deep thud of weights hitting the floor, the sharp calls of teammates urging one another on, and the roar of the crowd when someone dug deep for a final rep. It wasn’t pretty. It wasn’t glamorous. It was gritty, sweaty, and absolutely alive.
Being there as a booth vendor gave us a unique vantage point. We weren’t just observers — we were in the middle of it.
Athletes wandered over between heats, still catching their breath, shoulders heaving, hands slightly trembling from exertion. Many slipped on our frames right there and then. No mirrors, no air-conditioned retail environment. Just real-world testing in real conditions. Sweat on skin. Movement. Bright overhead light. That’s how performance eyewear should be experienced — not in theory, but in action.
We had great conversations throughout the day. Some were discovering Sunday Shades for the first time. Others had seen us online and were curious to finally try the fit in person. There’s always something special about that first moment when someone realises the frame sits securely, comfortably — that it feels like it belongs there.
But beyond the athletes and customers, something else stayed with us.
We found ourselves speaking with other Singaporean brands who were also there, each building something in their own way. Different products. Different stories. Yet a similar desire to create work that lasts. The conversations were unhurried and thoughtful. We shared lessons, small wins, hard moments, and the quiet determination it takes to keep going.
There was a warmth in those exchanges that lingered.
In a space filled with competition and intensity, there was also generosity. Encouragement was offered freely. Ideas were exchanged without hesitation. It was a gentle reminder that building a brand in Singapore doesn’t have to feel isolating. There are others navigating the same terrain — figuring things out, taking risks, learning as they go. And sometimes, simply knowing that makes the journey feel lighter.
The day was long. We started early, setting up before the first athletes arrived. The hours moved quickly in a blur of conversations, cheers, and constant motion. By the time the final heat ended and the lights began to dim, our legs were tired and our voices slightly hoarse.
But it was the good kind of tired.
The kind that comes from showing up fully. From being present. From engaging face-to-face instead of through a screen.
Events like this matter to us because they bring everything back to what Sunday Shades is really about. Movement. Effort. Real people doing hard things. They allow us to listen more closely, understand more deeply, and design more intentionally.
We left the Singapore Team Games that night with sore feet and full hearts.
To everyone who stopped by, tried on a pair, or just came over for a quick chat — thank you. And we’re already looking forward to the next time we get to stand in the middle of the action again.
